The Bottom Words & Music by Mitch Siegal 9-22-10

Intro:

If I could sleep then wake up... as someone else than me...
Maybe a star up in the sky...surveying all I see...

Mistakes I've made in my life...success instead of pain...
Rather than hell...to wade through...an ocean of disdain...

According to all calculations...lady lucks been on vacation, for...

Far too long...catching stones you've thrown...
as I'm sinking down and ...hitting the rocks on the bottom...

Tag

So here I sit...all alone...where no one speaks...my foreign tongue...
When nothings left... what is there...my only friends a gun...

I don't expect you'd know how...to get this way, so far down...
But here I am... at the bottom...the bottom...at the bottom...

(Bridge) F# A F# A B

All out of air...I'm drowning...in my despair...
Where there's no one around... as you hand me a glass filled with water ...

It's been...Far too long...catching stones you've thrown...
as I'm sinking down and ... hitting the rocks on the bottom...

Description
Short Song Description:
This is a song about hitting rock bottom and suicide.
Story Behind the Song:
A couple months ago a patient of mine commited suicide. no one had a clue this was even an option for him. I try and put in words what may have been going through his head in this song. and even though no one will ever fully understand why he did this, including me, it helps to write about the experience.
